摘要: Gliomas, in particular the high-grade anaplastic glioma and glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), are manifested by morphological, genetic phenotypic heterogeneity. Most of studies hitherto have been performed on bulk cells, with limited understanding origin relative contribution cell populations to growth progression. Recent demonstrated existence a small fraction cells endowed features primitive neural progenitor tumor-initiating function. Such defined as stem cells. However, questions remain whether currently identified cell-of-origin for initiation progression, or results such processes. In this review, we discuss current evidence limitation identifying potential context post-natal regeneration their transformation mechanisms. The implication these findings diagnosis treatment will also be reviewed.
