摘要: Abstract Background/Aims: In inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), peripheral monocytes and intestinal macrophages show an increased state of priming activation. The aim this study was to test the hypothesis that response IBD mononuclear phagocytes contrainflammatory cytokine interleukin (IL) 4 may be altered. Methods: in vitro secretion proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, tumor necrosis factor α [TNF-α], IL-1-receptor antagonist [IL-1ra]) by lamina propria cells (LPMNCs) assessed enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. parallel, superoxide anion release, macrophage mannose receptor, IL-4 receptor expression were investigated. Results: LPMNCs secrete amounts (IL-1β TNF-α) with decreased IL-1raIL-1β ratios. down-regulates a dose-dependent manner. contrast normal disease-specific controls, diminished responsiveness inhibitory effect IL-4. ratios are IL-4, whereas low persist after treatment. IL-4-induced which is molecule pivotal macrophage-mediated host defense, again appeared impaired monocytes. Conclusions: IL-4-mediated regulation phagocyte effector functions disturbed IBD.
