摘要: This cross-sectional study aimed to estimate the prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) infection alone and in combination with human papillomavirus (HPV). Furthermore, investigates whether CT increases risk contracting HPV presence both pathogens is associated a higher cervical lesions. Cervical samples 1,134 asymptomatic women enrolled screening program for cancer were analyzed. Two specimens collected from each patient, one cytologic examination other detection by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), using primer pair which amplifies specific sequence DNA plasmid. The overall rate was 10.9 %, being 10 % normal cytology, 13.8 % those atypical squamous cells undetermined significance (ASC-US), 25 % low-grade intraepithelial lesion (LSIL). did not increase acquiring infection. LSIL co-infected possibly due HPV. more prevalent younger aged up 32 years, who had an early onset reproductive activity history having multiple sexual partners lifelong may be at greater genital tract C. trachomatis.
