摘要: To clarify clinical and laboratory findings that may be related to the pathomechanism of HTLV-I-associated myelopathy/tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP), we analyzed these in 239 patients with HAM/TSP, including 64 followed up for 10 years after their first examinations, special interest HTLV-I proviral load peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). The PBMCs did not differ terms modes transmission. However, age disease onset greater than 65 tended higher those a younger onset. In years, symptoms deteriorated 36 (56%), unchanged 26 (41%), improved 2 (3%). also appeared deterioration motor disability patients. our knowledge, present study is longitudinal concerning relationship between course HAM/TSP load. It suggested progression an important factor predict prognosis HAM/TSP.
