摘要: Sustainable management of coastal systems can only be achieved with an effective science-policy interface that integrates the three pillars sustainable development: environmental protection, social progress and economic growth. The Systems Approach Framework (SAF) provides a structure to guide such process by embracing challenge assessing complex for scenario simulations support potential policy decisions. Based on applications SAF in six Baltic Sea case studies within BONUS BaltCoast project, was revisited further developed. Two additional steps were introduced partly enhance implementation decision validation facilitate reiterative addition monitoring evaluation. now includes (Issue Identification, System Design, Formulation, Assessment, Implementation, Monitoring Evaluation). A list actions each step clearly defines what needs done before progressing next step. Activities improved better integrate governance - citizen collaboration improve interface. Three auxiliary tools, developed project particular actions, integrated different application practitioners scientists alike. added focus stakeholder participation resulted being listed new maintain engagement counteract fatigue. revised is presented discussed together lessons learned from five study sites.
