摘要: Abstract Using a sensitive double-antibody solid-phase enzyme immunoassay method α-melanocyte stimulating hormone-like immunoreactivity (α-MSH-LI) was measured in 21 regions of postmortem brains from 8 normal subjects and 5 patients with Alzheimer-type dementia (ATD). In the subjects, highest concentration α-MSH-LI found hypothalamus. Relatively high were also locus coeruleus, substantia innominata, nigra, amygdala medial nucleus thalamus. other approximately1/100 hypothalamic content. This data is consistent existence α-MSH extrahypophyseal indicates its regional distribution human brain. Alzheimer brains, although temporal cortex hippocampus had concentrations α-MSH-LI, cingulate cortex, caudate nigra showed significantly lower than those control brains. suggests that further studies content larger number ATD would be useful.
