摘要: Multiple agents have been proposed for the prevention and treatment of fibrosis. S-adenosylmethionine was reported to oppose CCl 4 -induced fibrosis in rat, attenuate consequences ethanol-induced oxidative stress, decrease mortality cirrhotics. Anti-inflammatory medications that interfere with collagen synthesis, such as inhibitors prolyl-4-hydroxylase antioxidants, are also being tested. In nonhuman primates, polyenylphosphatidylcholine (PPC), extracted from soybeans, protected against alcohol-induced cirrhosis prevented associated hepatic phosphatidylcholine (PC) depletion by increasing 18:2 containing PC species; it attenuated transformation stellate cells into collagen-producing transitional cells. Furthermore, increased breakdown, shown cultured enriched PPC or pure dilinoleoyl PC, main species present extract. Because promote breakdown collagen, there is reasonable hope this may be useful management alcoholic, well nonalcoholic, etiologies affect not only progression disease, but reverse pre-existing fibrosis, demonstrated rat presently tested an ongoing clinical trial.
