摘要: In a remarkable example of convergent evolution, several parasitic wasp lineages have independently captured and maintained complex DNA virus machineries, used to transfer virulence factors. Parasitic wasps, which develop inside the larvae their insect hosts, may inject Polydnaviruses (PDVs) or Virus-Like particles (VLPs), derived from recurrent endogenization large viruses. PDVs evolved domestication in braconid ichneumonid wasps viruses different families function as gene agents. contrast, independent nudiviruses led evolution both PDV VLP strategies. Venturia canescens, endogenous nudivirus has lost ability encapsidate DNA, instead VLPs cargo molecules origin parasitized host.
