摘要: Uterine tumors, whether benign or malignant, are diagnosed in a significant portion of women and associated with number co-morbidities that negatively impact quality life. tumors can be derived from the epithelial (endometrial hyperplasia carcinoma) mesenchymal (leiomyoma, sarcoma) layers uterus. The exact etiologies various tumor types yet to defined. Collectively their development progression often results aberrant steroid hormone exposure dysregulation related growth factor signaling apoptotic pathways, reflecting role hormone-dependent survival pathways cycles cell involution characterize normal uterine physiology. While molecular analyses human identify candidate genetic epigenetic lesions contributing initiation progression, vivo models needed establish functional significance such contribution tumorigenesis. For this purpose, genetically-engineered mouse have proven valuable. Here we review genetically-modified develop compare pathology, utility/feasibility, discuss clinical relevance.
