摘要: Glycosylation plays an important role in several types of recognition processes associated with fertilisation and development, allergies, pathological events cell death. Whereas the amino acid sequence a protein is fixed by DNA, glycosylation abilities depend on enzymes substrates currently present cell. During last decades our knowledge – structure glycans as well corresponding biochemical pathways including responsible - especially mammalian origin increased enormously. The capabilities other species were under investigation only if their for any reason connected to human life (e.g. some pathogens or allergy food plant glycans) they potent candidates culture systems expression therapeutic agents (some insect, yeast cells). However, meantime there increasing interest also invertebrate glycosylation. Snails particular show broad spectrum within N-glycosylation pattern. In one case this has been shown be involved intermediate host parasite process. For snail species, it was found that share many structural elements N-glycans mammals, plants, insects nematodes. Sometimes these are single structure. Here we overview current snails, glycan structures biosynthetic pathway.
