摘要: Introduction The incidence of malignant mesothelioma (MM) in Denmark has been rising rapidly since the 1950s. aim this study was to determine temporal developments MM and survival as a whole individual regions. Material methods Data from Danish Cancer Registry were used. Cases pleura, peritoneum pericardium occurring 1943-2009 period included. National regional rates calculated, age-standardised stratified by various variables. Survival calculated using Kaplan Meier plot. Results total national for men throughout reached its maximum 1.76 2008-2009. For women, rate remained relatively steady, with 0.5 1973-1977. Since late 1980s, Region Northern Jutland had highest male rate. difference relative risk Southern 1.53 2008-2009, developing entire collectively compared 1.38. No notable exists women. improved both but remains poor median 12.5 months 13.3 women Conclusion continues increase, perhaps showing slight tendency towards deceleration most recent decade. A clear long-term effect asbestos ban not yet occurred. Funding relevant. Trial registration
