摘要: Objective To identify determinants of pulmonary function and health-related quality life (HRQOL) to better understand disease severity in patients with asthma COPD. Design Observational study. Setting Dutch general practice. Patients We studied 837 231 COPD patients. Results The association between HRQOL was poor for (ββ = 0.10) 0.19). Multivariately, asthma, lower associated male gender, region living, current smoking, use inhaled short-acting bronchodilators, longer duration disease, higher diurnal variation peak expiratory flow. In COPD, more days nights disturbed by respiratory complaints, not wheezing, bronchial hyperresponsiveness. Reduced most strongly complaints dyspnea both additional associations were found younger age, educational level, comorbidity, bronchodilators corticosteroids, chronic cough, sputum production, production reduced HRQOL. Conclusions Pulmonary appear highlight different aspects Therefore, measures should be taken into account order get a complete picture disease.
