摘要: Understanding the fraction of newly detected human papillomavirus (HPV) infections due to acquisition and reactivation has important implications on screening strategies prevention HPV-associated neoplasia. Information sexual activity cervical samples for HPV DNA detection using Roche Linear Array were collected semiannually two years from 700 women ages 35 60 years. Incidence potential associated with new lifetime partnerships estimated Poisson regression. Cox frailty models used estimate hazard ratios (HR) risk factors incident detection. Recent numbers partners both strongly However, only 13% detections attributed partners, whereas 72% 5 or more partners. Furthermore, 155 183 (85%) occurred during periods abstinence monogamy, cumulative exposure [HR: 4.1, 95% confidence interval (CI): 2.0-8.4). This association increased increasing age. These data challenge paradigm that is driven by current behavior viral in older women. Our observation most infection was attributable past, not current, at supports a natural history model latency reactivation. As highly exposed baby-boomer generation debut after revolution transition menopause, cancer recommendations should be carefully evaluated.
