摘要: Abstract This paper develops a cell-based formulation for the simultaneous route and departure time choice problem with elastic demands through variational inequality (VIP). follows ideal Dynamic User Optimal (DUO) principle encapsulates network version of cell transmission model to improve accuracy dynamic traffic modeling. To solve formulation, we adopt descent method developed co-coercive VIP. Two numerical studies are set up demonstrate quality solutions. The results show that correctly determines DUO solution even in presence queue spillback junction blockage. In analysis, prove origin–destination (OD) first-in-first-out (FIFO) property is only maintained under certain conditions travel schedule delay costs. These on cost parameters are, interestingly, consistent empirical results. Thus, theoretical analyses together indicate OD FIFO should hold reality. finding reasonable reflection our experience, which shows generally holds subject overtaking not occurring commonly.
