摘要: Abstract Enzymatic activities were studied histochemically in lungs from young rats which had been exposed to 0.8 ppm ozone continuously for 7 days. Walls of terminal airways and interalveolar septa centriacinar regions the areas lung most noticeably affected by exposure. Histologically these structures observed be thickened infiltrated mononuclear cells. Bronchiolar epithelium lower NADH- NADPH-diaphorase reactivities higher ATPase reactivity than similar control lungs. Interalveolar ozone-exposed increased diaphorase, LDH, ATPase, cytochrome oxidase reactivities. Increased septal histochemical was not only zone that infiltrated, but also an immediately adjacent histologically unaffected. The increases enzymatic could part a protective mechanism operating locally help maintain cellular integrity.
