摘要: Abstract A competitive binding assay using a monoclonal antibody to the human T-cell lymphoma/leukemia virus (HTLV) p19 was developed for use in detecting natural antibodies protein sera. The specificity of HTLV demonstrated variety antisera. While sera known contain competed assay, antisera prepared against purified p24, major core virus, or other disrupted type-C retroviruses did not. Sera Japanese patients with adult leukemia and similar malignant lymphomas were examined by this technique presence p19. results compared those obtained solid-phase radioimmunoassay (RIA) HTLV. majority ATL possess as shown RIA (88%) also specifically (77%). Similarly, 50% nearly many (42%) anti-p19 reactivity. Twelve eight percent, respectively, normal donors from endemic region possessed HTLV-specific assay. Normal nonendemic areas lacked These extend our previous findings ATL. finding p19-specific these sera, together reports p24 same geographic cluster, strengthens association
