摘要: Over the last decade, there have been tremendous advances in genetic testing through development of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies. This has led to plummeting costs making it possible test for multiple genes simultaneously at a cost comparable 1–2 older Sanger technology. As consequence, clinical practice greatly impacted resulting need develop new models counseling and informed consent. chapter will highlight considerations when using NGS evaluate inherited cancer predisposition. Topics be covered include factors consider conducting tests, various multigene tests available, paradigm shifts, other laboratory is conducted. We conclude with evolving role genetics health professionals given emerging landscape importance education outreach efforts.
