摘要: The advent of the X-ray free electron laser (XFEL) in last decade created discipline serial crystallography but also challenge how crystal samples are delivered to X-ray. Early sample delivery methods demonstrated proof-of-concept for and XFEL were beset with challenges high consumption, jet clogging low data collection efficiency. potential as next frontier structural solution by small weakly diffracting crystals provision ultra-fast time-resolved spawned a huge amount scientific interest innovation. To utilize full broaden its applicability larger variety biological samples, researchers challenged develop better methods. Thus, is one key areas research development community. Sample currently falls into three main systems: jet-based methods, fixed-target chips, drop-on-demand. Huge strides have since been made reducing consumption improving efficiency, thus enabling use many systems provide high-resolution, radiation damage-free well dynamics studies. This review summarizes current strategies their respective pros cons, some future direction.
