摘要: Penetration of the heteroxenous protozoan Trypanosoma rangeli into salivary glands its invertebrate host Rhodnius domesticus has been investigated here using different approaches. Electron microscopy showed that epimastigotes coming from insect hemocoel cross basal lamina surrounds and penetrate through gland cells cytoplasm. After reaching lumen, epimastigote forms remain adhered to cell microvilli by their flagella, while metacyclic trypomastigotes are found swimming free in saliva. Analysis flow cytometry, western blotting hemolytic activity allowed demonstrate presence T. a molecule with antigenic cross-reactivity murine perforin, which could be used parasites reach lumen. This molecule, we named as rangelysin, 120 kDa molecular weight, is able induce hemolysis only acidic pH, produced both trypomastigote forms.
