Modulation Methods for Three-Level Neutral-Point-Clamped Inverter Achieving Stress Redistribution Under Moderate Modulation Index

摘要: This letter investigates the loss and thermal behaviors of a three-level neutral-point-clamped (3L-NPC) inverter undergoing moderate modulation index, which is typically presented during minor voltage sags power grid or speed changes electric machines. A series new space vector methods then proposed to relocate loading among devices. It concluded that with some methods, device in 3L-NPC can be effectively modified optimized, junction temperature most stressed devices also relieved. The control ability dc bus midpoint potential, one crucial considerations for topology, investigated when applying methods.
