摘要: Porphyrins and their metal derivatives are strong DNA binders with association constants of around 106 M-1. Some these compounds have been used for radiation sensitization therapy cancer targeted to interact cellular DNA. Chlorophyllin (CHLN), a food-grade derivative chlorophyll (CHL), the ubiquitous green plant pigment widely consumed by humans, is potent inhibitor experimental carcinogenesis. The aim this study was examine interaction calf-thymus chlorophyllin in aqueous solution at physiological pH, CHLN/DNA(phosphate) molar ratios (r) 1/80, 1/40, 1/20, 1/10 1/4, 1/2. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) difference spectroscopy determine CHLN binding mode, constant, sequence selectivity, secondary structure, structural variations DNA−CHLN complexes solution. Spectroscopic evidence showed that low concentration (r = 1/80), binds via intercalative mode into G−C A−T-rich ...
