摘要: Twenty-four patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection were investigated for possible changes in certain indole amine constituents blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Albumin serum was determined used as a rough nutritional marker. Six of the 24 had acquired syndrome AIDS, four other clinical symptoms HIV infection, 14 no apparent symptoms. The HIV-seropositive significantly decreased tryptophan values; their concentrations 28% lower CSF 30% than corresponding values healthy controls. 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) 50% lower, platelet content 5-HT 36% HIV-infected individuals control group. most pronounced invariably seen six cases AIDS low number CD4+ cells. No significant difference between controls detected mean 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA), although these levels markedly reduced patients. Neither any albumin.
