摘要: A lifetime history of major depressive disorder (MDD) increases the risk developing Alzheimer's disease, which neurofibrillary tangles due to abnormal tau proteins are a hallmark. We systematically reviewed literature on in MDD and identified 49 relevant articles spanning number modalities, including cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis, positron emission tomography, clinicopathological correlation. compared CSF total phosphorylated controls using meta-analytic approach. found no difference or MDD. also comparison subgroup excluding studies with significant age differences.
