摘要: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) has been shown to play an important role in the malignant progression of diffuse astrocytomas. Numerous studies have investigated clinical significance overexpression and amplification EGFR gene these tumours with ambiguous results. The aim this study was therefore review literature get current prognostic diagnostic status. PubMed database used search for papers English time period 1987-2010 using following keywords: astrocytoma, glioma, c-erbB1, EGFR, glioblastoma, HER1 prognosis. Other inclusion criteria were: 1) more than 50 patients; 2) patient age over 18 years; 3) tumour grading according latest World Health Organization (WHO) classification (2007) 4) assessed by immunohistochemistry. A total 47 publications were included several reported positive correlations between both histological malignancy grade survival. results are, however, encumbered elements uncertainty involving instance methodological diversities small number patients. Larger standardized procedures are necessary fully clarify human
