摘要: Object. Glioblastoma multiforme is the most malignant of primary brain tumors and aggressively infiltrates surrounding tissue, resulting in distant foci within central nervous system, thereby rendering this tumor surgically incurable. The recent findings that both phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI 3-K) phosphatase tensin homolog (PTEN) regulate cell invasiveness have led authors to surmise these lipid signaling molecules might play a role regulating matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), which are essential for invasion.
