摘要: Total joint arthroplasties are increasing worldwide in both frequency and prevalence. When successful, they offer great improvements quality of life. However, fractures around implants often difficult to manage require prolonged inpatient stays tertiary hospitals. Management may differ between surgeons, but most patients will be managed surgically if mobility or stability is threatened. Those affected at higher risk from surgery, frailer mortality a lifelong reduction mobility. The incidence these increasing, should appreciate the implications this recognised complication arthroplasty.
