摘要: Fly ash is a by-product of coal-fired electricity generation plants. The prevalent practice disposal as slurry and water to storage or ponds located near power stations. This has lain waste thousands hectares land all over the world. Since leaching often cause off-site contamination pathway introduction into human environment, study on genotoxic effects fly leachate essential. Leachate prepared from sample was analyzed for metal content, tested mutagenicity genotoxicity. Analyses metals show predominance metals-sodium, silicon, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, zinc, sulphate. Ames Salmonella assay, short-term bacterial reverse mutation conducted two-tester strains typhimurium TA97a TA102. For genotoxicity, alkaline version comet assay carried in vitro blood cells vivo Nicotiana directly mutagenic induced significant (P<0.05) concentration-dependent increases DNA damage whole cells, lymphocytes, parameters tail percentage (%), length (mum), olive moment (arbitrary units). Our results indicate that dumpsites potential may lead adverse vegetation health exposed populations.
