摘要: Introduction: Leptin, hormone secreted by the fat tissue, changes signaling of dopamine in nucleus accumbens, which directly affects sensitivity of reward and modulation abstinence. Aims: To evaluate level serum leptin its relation to nutritional status among alcoholic abstainers and non-abstinent. Methods: Patients both sexes, over 18 years old and who used alcohol as their primary drug were included in the study. Abstaining patients separated according to time without use A2 (1-3 monthabstainers) and A3 (4 month over-abstainers). Waist circumference (WC), body fat percentage (%BF) and weight height measured to calculate Body Mass Index (BMI). Blood samples collected for leptin measurement. Results: Mean levels leptin, leptin/BMI, leptin/%BF were higher all women categories. women (A2) also showed leptin/BMI leptin/ %BF than non-abstinent (p = 0.039; p 0.023; 0.023). Statistical differences shown abstaining women well a significant positive association between BMI WC in active female drinkers (leptin × BMI: r 0.91; < 0.01; leptin WC: 0.87; 0.001). However, significant association was not these results 0.28; 0.37/ X WC: -0.32, 0.92). Conclusion: Our suggest that seem to increase only abstaining women. This result can be related length abstinence.
