摘要: The objective of the present study was to assess utility Shope rabbit papillomas as an animal model system for studying topical podofilox treatment and evaluate dose-response relations influence duration papilloma growth prior treatment. New Zealand White rabbits received inoculations cottontail papillomavirus (CRPV) virions two dilutions at four sites total on dorsum. Two left side were treated with (Oclassen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., San Rafael, CA). drug given topically twice each day, 5 d per week, 21 d. We evaluated effects dose Results indicated that beginning day 28 both 0.5 2.5% (w/v) inhibited growth, but 5.0% more effective. In a separate experiment, 7, 21, or 60 after virus inoculation. At 7 d, untreated lesions latent (not visible). infection, they about 2.5 mm in diameter. 25 mm. Treatment any those days strongly growth. Neither Southern blots nor PCR detected CRPV DNA cured previous infection. Antibody production virion not affected by irritated normal skin adjacent evidenced inflammation, induration, superficial erosion. However, healing satisfactory no scarring resulted. concluded good because responded across broad range concentrations sizes.
