摘要: Purpose To evaluate the utility of a pitch elevation task in assessment oropharyngeal dysphagia. Method This study was pilot prospective cohort including 40 consecutive patients (16 male and 24 female) who were referred by their physician for swallowing evaluation. Patients evaluated with noninstrumental clinical examination videofluoroscopic swallow study, participated during image acquisition. Relationships between measurements (acoustic perceptual) parameters (penetration/aspiration residue) investigated. Results this revealed that both maximum fundamental frequency (F0) perceptual evaluation independently significantly predicted Penetration-Aspiration Scale scores thin liquid swallows (p = .01 .03, respectively).
