摘要: The effective diffusion coefficient of oxygen, IDe, was determined in different gel support materials (calcium alginate, κ-carrageenan, gellan gum, agar and agarose) which are generally used for immobilization cells. method based upon fitting Crank's model on the experimental data. describes solute from a well-stirred solution into beads initially free solute. effect concentration IDe oxygen investigated. results showed decreasing both agarose at increasing concentration. In case calcium alginate maximum intermediate observed. It is hypothesized that this phenomenon due to changing gelpore structure concentrations. κ-carrageenan gum varied 1.5*10−9 2.1*10−9 m2s−1 range 0.5 5% (w/v).
