摘要: Exposure of weanling rats to a diet containing 1% elemental tellurium causes segmental demyelination peripheral nerve, and an inhibition squalene epoxidase. This is thought be the mechanism action leading demyelination. Tellurite appears active inhibitory species in cell-free system but vivo unknown. We examined potassium tellurite (K2TeO3) three organotellurium compounds for their ability inhibit epoxidase Schwann cell cultures induce rats. K2TeO3 had no effect on activity cultured cells caused vivo. All vitro (CH3)2TeCl2 was most potent these its neuropathy resembled that by tellurium. These data are consistent with hypothesis tellurium-induced result suggest dimethyltelluronium compound may neurotoxic presented
