摘要: Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the sixth most common form of cancer worldwide. One frequent alteration found in this type overactivation PI3K/PTEN/mTOR pathway, which protein kinase B (PKB)/Akt a central key element, controlling important cellular processes such as metabolism, size, proliferation apoptosis, ultimately regulating growth survival. Thus, drugs that target Akt directly or elements pathway are plausible candidates for treatment. Accordingly, numerous clinical trials various phases being performed these drugs. In review, we discuss tumorigenic capacity focus on its role HNSCC, paying special attention to current efforts treating more specific, Akt-targeted way, based primordial
