摘要: Abstract Imaging techniques such as positron emission tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, single-photon optical and others can be applied to investigations of animal models cancer the central nervous system (CNS) gain critical insights into disease status in a noninvasive fashion. Scaled-down versions clinical neuroimaging systems offer research investigators full arsenal diagnostic imaging capabilities that are available clinic well experimental modalities not yet approved for human applications. The use technologies enables study designs track individual animals over time; these longitudinal data complement traditional histological endpoint analyses often reduce number required make precision observations. This chapter briefly discusses some current applications CNS with goal arming reader examples how may leveraged activities. growing preclinical only encourages translation acquired from studies observations made clinic, but also validates important advances science.
