摘要: INTRODUCTION Diffusion tensor magnetic resonance (MR) imaging (DTI) can be used to characterize the microstructures of ordered biological tissues. This study was designed assess histological features gliomas and surrounding brain tissues in rats using DTI. METHODS Three types tumors, a 9L gliosarcoma (n = 8), F98 glioma 5), human glioblastoma xenograft (GBM22; n 8) were incubated rat brains underwent conventional MRI DTI scanning 4.7-T animal system. Fractional anisotropy (FA), isotropic apparent diffusion coefficient, parallel diffusivity (λ//), perpendicular (λ⊥), as well within several regions interest analyzed. RESULTS All tumor masses consisted low-FA central zones (tumor center) high-FA peripheral rim). Histological examination revealed existence highly coherent organizations (circular for or radial GBM22) rims. There higher λ⊥, λ// peritumoral edema compared contralateral gray matter. significantly lower FA λ⊥ ipsilateral white matter than GBM22 tumor, whereas there no differences tumors. Histologic showed infiltration into damaged CONCLUSIONS Quantitative analysis indices provides useful information assessing microstructure cell invasion adjacent
