摘要: Brain edema is a hallmark of human malignant brain tumors and contributes to the clinical course outcome tumor patients. The so-called perifocal or swelling imposes in T2-weighted MR scans as high intensity areas surrounding bulk mass. mechanisms this increased fluid attraction cellular composition microenvironment are only partially understood. In study, we focus on imaging orthotopically implanted gliomas rodents correlate with immunohistochemical markers. We identified that not include invasion zone, but also associated glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) aquaporin-4 expression Moreover, number activated microglial cells expressing CD11b macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) accumulate at border. Thus, area mainly dominated by reactive changes vital tissue. These data corroborate characterized alterations cell distribution marker forming an inflammatory microenvironment.
