摘要: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Anti-apolipoprotein A-1 (anti-apoA-1) IgG is a potential marker of atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability and cardiovascular complications. In patients with periodontitis the presence anti-apoA-1 IgGs in serum their association atherosclerosis unknown. MATERIAL METHODS: One-hundred thirty subjects periodontal disease 46 healthy subjects, matched for age gender, participated this study. Anti-apoA-1 IgG, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) -2, -3, -8 -9 were measured samples. An ankle-brachial index (ABI) value below 1.11 served as surrogate atherosclerosis. Predictive accuracies biomarkers abnormal ABI determined using receiver-operating characteristics curves logistic regression analyses. RESULTS: Compared controls, showed lower median values (1.10 vs. 1.15; p < 0.0001), higher prevalence positivity (23.8% 6.5%; p = 0.009) concentrations hsCRP (1.62 mg/L 0.85 mg/L; p = 0.02) MMP-9 (435 μg/mL 283 μg/mL; p < 0.0001). younger than 50 years (n = 66), was found to be best predictor an (area under curve = 0.63; p = 0.03). increased risk having (odds ratio 4.20; p = 0.04), independently diabetes, smoking body mass index. CONCLUSIONS: atherosclerosis, reflected by ABI, more prevalent age- gender-matched controls. patients, burden.
