Homogeneously staining chromosomal regions contain amplified copies of an abundantly expressed cellular oncogene (c-myc) in malignant neuroendocrine cells from a human colon carcinoma.

摘要: Two human neuroendocrine tumor cell lines derived from a colon carcinoma contain either numerous double minute chromosomes (COLO 320 DM) or homogeneously staining marker chromosome HSR). We found amplification and enhanced expression of the cellular oncogene c-myc in both COLO DM HSR cells, we were able to show that regions amplified c-myc. From previous present karyotypes, it appears reside on distorted X chromosome. Therefore, has been accompanied by translocation gene its normal position 8 (8q24). Because features primary cultures original tumor, seems reasonable suspect may have contributed tumorigenesis.
