摘要: A prospective nonrandomized study of consecutive patients presenting to the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary for septoplasty was conducted evaluate patient-based outcome. Patients received statistically validated measures general health status (Short Form-12) nasal specific (Nasal Health Survey) before 6 12 months after surgery. Multiple perioperative patient- surgeon-dependent treatment variables were also evaluated determine impact on total 161 entered into study, 93 available statistical analysis. At 9 mean follow-up (range 6-12 months), both symptom medication subscores Nasal Survey, score demonstrated significant improvement (P < 0.05); 71% had clinically as determined by at least a 50% decrease in duration symptoms.
