Impact of marijuana use on self-rated cognition in young adult men and women.

摘要: Background and Objectives Marijuana (MJ) is a widely used substance that has been shown to impair cognition in laboratory settings. There growing number of medical MJ dispensaries state policies permitting the use United States. This study naturalistic explores association same day on self-rated young adult men women. Methods Forty-eight (n = 48) adults (22 F; mean age = 22.3) participated. After baseline assessment, participants made daily phone calls staff over next 3 weeks. Cumulative minutes last 24-hours were assessed. Demographic information collected self-ratings cognitive impairment assessed using six questions about areas difficulty thinking each day. Results There was significant relationship between greater higher levels difficulties (b = .004; SE = .001; p < .006). no main effect gender (b = 1.0; SE = .81; p < .22). Planned evaluation interaction not statistically, suggesting similar among women compared (p < .54). Conclusions Scientific Significance There an current heavy self-perceived ability both males females. These findings reveal important regarding one consequence real-world meaning smokers.
