摘要: Background Helicobacter pylori, the human gastric pathogen, causes a variety of diseases ranging from mild gastritis to cancer. While studies on H. pylori are dominated by those based either East Asian or Western strains, information regarding strains prevalent in Middle remains scarce. Therefore, we carried out whole-genome sequencing and comparative analysis three isolated native Arab, Kuwaiti patients. Materials Methods H. pylori were sequenced using Illumina platform. The sequence reads filtered draft genomes assembled annotated. Various pathogenicity-associated regions phages present within identified. Phylogenetic was determine genetic relatedness various lineages H. pylori. core genome content virulence-related genes analyzed assess pathogenic potential. Results The clustered along with HpEurope phylogenetic tree comprising lineages. A total 1187 spread among functional classes identified analysis. possessed complete cagPAI also retained most known outer membrane proteins as well genes. cagA gene all consisted an AB-C type EPIYA motif. Conclusions The genomic revealed European ancestry high potential.
