摘要: Abstract Concentrations of Cu, Pb, Sn and Zn have been determined in sediment ( 500 μm) retrieved from sections two cores collected a tidal inlet the Plym estuary, southwest England. Paint particles contributed up to about 0.2% total mass each section were most abundant towards base where, according 210 Pb dating, deposition took place decade prior sampling. Metal concentrations paint pooled highly variable, typically spanning orders magnitude core, greatest for Cu (up 460,000 170,000 μg g −1 , respectively) due their use contemporary antifouling formulations applied boat hulls. metals were, however, relatively invariant, an effect attributed abundance dispersion microscopic throughout cores.
