摘要: Publisher Summary In recent times, there has been a tremendous expansion in knowledge of Na + -dependent glutamate (Glu) transporters. A large family identified using pharmacological as well molecular biological techniques. At present, the cloned transporters do not reconstitute all subtypes observed vivo and vitro . Furthermore, clones provide evidence for transport activity that were differentiated pharmacologically. The acidic amino acids, (Glu), aspartate (Asp) are predominant excitatory neurotransmitters mammalian central nervous system (CNS). Several types activities Glu Asp have mammals. Although at least two families these localized to plasma membrane, other appear be selectively subcellular organelles. Only one is membrane appears coupled an electrochemical gradient permits acids against their concentration gradient. This active focus this chapter. suggest several presented here.
