Human tumor cell lines with EGF receptor gene amplification in the absence of aberrant sized mRNAs

摘要: A survey of human tumor cell lines for increased PDGF or EGF receptors identified 5 which bind from 6 to 13 times more than normal fibroblasts. Immunoprecipitation analysis links the elevated binding activity quantities receptor protein. gene amplification was detected in 2 lines. No evidence rearrangements found at level DNA RNA structure. The results suggest that levels can be associated with least three distinct mechanisms. These include accompanied by rearrangement, without alteration mRNA transcripts, and extensive expression amplification.
