Diagnostic Utility of Adenosine Deaminase in Serum and Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid for Screening Lung Cancer in Western Iran

摘要: Background: This study aimed to determine adenosine deaminase (ADA) activity as a possible screening tool in lung cancer patients. Methods: Blood samples were collected from 30 subjects with positive pathological tests and 62 patients negative control group. The enzymatic of total ADA its isoenzymes was determined. Results: tADA ADA2 isoenzyme significantly higher cancerous compared benign controls serum BAL fluid. Using cut-off level respectively 35.22 U/L 31.80 for ADA2, sensitivity specificity 100% 81% 95% 98% ADA2. Conclusions: Adenosine may play important roles the pathophysiology because might be considered useful among other markers diagnosis.
