With reality application next-generation sequencing, technical aspects molecular testing can be accomplished at greater speed higher volume, while much information is obtained. Although this a next logical step pathology laboratories, potential impact on process correlations extraordinary interpretation will challenging. We review rapidly evolving technologies; provide examples; discuss utility, ethics, consent; address analytic, postanalytic, professional implications.
