摘要: We report experimental results of the operation two ferroelectric cathodes relatively large size. The first cathode had a diameter 10.2 cm and was built in Pierce geometry by Integrated Applied Physics (IAP). It achieved emission currents up to 1.2 kA (15.3 A/cm/sup 2/) at voltages 100 kV, 150 ns pulses. second an annular shape with 11.4 width 0.25 cm. Massachusetts Institute Technology produce electron beam for use Gyrotron microwave source. operated 10 A (1.1 8 5 /spl mu/s Detailed operating characteristics each these sources are reported. These indicate that can be used beams area size, high total current pulse lengths several microseconds. should suitable future generation experiments.
