Design of unconstrained and constrained model predictive control for pneumatic actuator system: Set-point tracking

摘要: This paper presents the performance analysis of Model Predictive Controller (MPC) for controlling position cylinder's stroke pneumatic actuator system. The mathematical model system was obtained using System Identification (SI) technique and linear approach AutoRegressive with Exogenous Input (ARX) chosen as a structure to describe dynamic behavior characteristics input constraints were applied MPC algorithm make controller operates closer limits. In this paper, in well tracking set-point compared Proportional-Integral (PI) controller. controllers assessed by taking into account percentage overshoot (%OS), settling time (ts), rise (tr), steady-state error (SSE) responses. Simulation results show effectiveness constrained producing better transient response minimizing SSE.
