摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses bacteriophages as biochemical and genetic systems. The experimental evidence discussed in this leads to the conclusion that two complementary activities take place reproduction of bacteriophage,. first is replication material ensure continuity virus. second specification by genome a multiplicity functions which are necessary for successful passage phage through its growth cycle. Both these aspects bacteriophage pose related problems about molecular mechanisms: one ultimately concerned with mechanism DNA molecules, other determination molecules structural details proteins. central problem determine relation between nucleotide sequence cistron amino acid protein it specifies. best way attack isolate specified fine structure analysis possible.
