摘要: Nonsurgical hypoparathyroidism (Ns-HypoPT) and pseudohypoparathyroidism (PHP) are both rare diseases, characterized by hypocalcemia. In Ns-HypoPT, PTH levels low, whereas patients with PHP often have very high due to receptor-insensitivity (PTH-resistance). Accordingly, we hypothesized that indices of bone turnover mineralization/architecture similar in Ns-HypoPT despite marked differences levels. We studied 62 31 as well a group age- sex-matched healthy controls. found significantly higher areal BMD (aBMD) DXA among compared the background population. Compared had lower total trabecular volumetric (vBMD) assessed quantitative computed tomography (QCT) scans at spine hip. High-resolution peripheral (HRpQCT) showed area vBMD number tibia matched PHP, correlated markers formation (osteocalcin, bone-specific alkaline phosphatase, P1NP), resorption (CTx). adult males, were Ns-HypoPT. Levels procalcitonin calcitonin conclusion, turnover, density, microarchitecture differ between PHP. Our data suggest do not complete skeletal resistance effects chronically mostly confined tissue. © 2017 American Society for Bone Mineral Research.
